Foundation training
We offer 4 placements (2 x 12-month hospital and 2 x 6-month plus 26 week GP placements).
Our trainees describe their path to become exemplary clinical pharmacists at our high-performing Trust as ‘exciting, challenging and supportive.’
Rotations have a clinical focus and cover: Regional vascular centre, acute medical wards, orthopaedics, paediatrics, medicines information, dispensary and aseptics.
Each rotation is supervised by a Specialist Pharmacist for that clinical area who provides expert training.
We will support your development with regular clinical meetings and allow you to take increasing responsibility as you progress.
We support cross sector experience with our community colleagues and offer two weeks experience at our local Clinical Commissioning Group. We also offer a week at the local Mental Health Trust.
Our foundation training tutors are enthusiastic about the role and offer a mix of experience and new ideas. Tutors and trainees are supported by monthly meetings with the Foundation training manager.
Our programme dovetails with the UEA to ensure you receive comprehensive learning to stand you in good stead to begin life as an excellent newly qualified pharmacist. In 2017 and 2018, several of our trainees secured Band 6 pharmacist posts within the trust.
We hope you will join our supportive team and choose to work in our forward-thinking, outward-looking department.
